wassup everyone??? first off, a happy new year to all Atlanta-ians! although i dunno how many of u will get to read this.. well, its a new year, 2005, and its our 2nd semester.. some of u may have done well in da 1st semester, give urself a pat on ur back, well done.. for others, like me, who didnt do so well, nevermind, try again, work harder! very soon, another academic year will be over before we know it.. : ) all da best for the new year!!

anyway, as we usher in a new year, as we make resolutions in our mind, as we wish one another a fruitful, meaningful year ahead, lets not forget the hundreds of thousands of victims of the recent asian tsunami disaster... everyday, on the front page of The Straits Times, we only see an increasing figure of those who have lost their lives in this unfortunate event... even several hundred Singaporeans are not spared either, as more than 200 are still missing.. although ths disaster only lasted for hours, it will take years to rebuild what was lost in an instant.. homes, families and lives wrecked forever.. i hope we keep them in our prayers every night.. and i hope we learn to treasure everyone even more...

Gosh. i haven't visited this blog in a few weeks. And it sure looks like i'm not the only one. Anyway, i just finished a powerpoint for a qualitative interview presentation I've got to give in my 105 lecture tomorrow. I just hope i don't get torn to shreds by Corrine. For the uninformed, Corrine's this little chilli padi of a tutor we have. She's small but powerful. Very powerful.

I've come to realise that everyone sleeps really late. I just wonder if its because everyone's mugging. Cos i know i'm not. And that's a really worrrying thought.

HAPPY 21st BIRTHDAY!!!!!!!!

no no no... wad is happening to Atlanta blog? its so quiet... guess everybody must be busy mugging... anyway, tmr got 103 mid-term... sianz... today just had 101 mid-term... it sucks (at least for me)...

oh, just a small update on Colin's bday celebration on sunday(yest). Representing Atlanta, we have..... (drum rolls) .... Char! Jac! Keat! n me! I seriously dunno wad came over us yesterday, bcos we just sat there, eating up all the snacks/crackers available on the table... to sum it up, "Keat started it, Jac ended it (literally)." Our dear Urchin also invited his RJ friends, who sang much more than us... we were basically 'watching a concert', sitting there, listening, drinking, eating... and Jac studying for 101... his RJ friends also bought him an ice-cream cake from Swensons! among other things like a super big bag, a RED underwear etc...

From Atlanta, we bought him a black t-shirt from fourskin (note: NOT foreskin) ... and also a black wristband...

We left at 6 plus... and it was a v nice karaoke session at PartyWorld in Orchard. a pity for those who missed it... esp our dear mama, cos Colin wanted d both 'lookalikes' to meet... (sidetrack abit...hope mama's recovered and well again?? we all miss u!!)

It was great seeing all of you at the lobby after the show. I felt like a star !!! And your cheers and applause while i was on stage was really marvellous !

Hehe, to those of you who didn't quite manage to come down, just wanna inform you guys that i made it to the top 5 (out of 12 finalists). And although i didn't make it to the top 3 (which means i didn't win anything except a certificate), i'm just glad i didn't screw up. Besides, my aim right from the start was to at least get into the top 5 so i could sing my second song ! And i did it !!!

I just got through the auditions of this other singing competition tonight ! Anyways, i'm really excited about the finals tomorrow, just hope i won't screw up big time. Thanks for all the blessings and if you guys need info about tomorrow again, here it is.

Just be at University Cultural Centre by 7pm. Tickets can be bought for 10bucks at the door and its free seating, so be slightly earlier if you want good seats. As for how to get there, take 96 from Clementi Interchange. It shouldn't be too difficult to see UCC...

another busy week. as usual. but kinda excited with the upcoming recess. there's a hall trip to kukup! wahah. shopping and eating yea. and we had a hall run yesterday. i actually went to run as well. because i have to with the peer pressure and status as main comm member and all. cant believe it. i nearly died. i always 'nearly died' when i run long distance. haha. of course, recess is also a catching up period. sigh.

My singing competition finals

Ok, here are the details of the 'Rhapsody' singing competition finals that i'm in :

Date : 14th September (Tuesday)
Time : 7pmVenue : University Cultural Centre (at NUS)
Ticket pricing : $10 per person

Hehe, this is gonna be a pretty grand event. I even went for a professional photo shoot with the other contestants for the programme booklet ! There are 12 solo finalists, and i'm going to be the fifth to sing on that night. I've chosen Zhang Zhi Cheng's "Ling Cheng San Dian Zhong" and Chen Xiao Dong's "Xin Li You Xi" as my slow and fast numbers respectively.

Results will be based on the judges (70%) and audience voting (30%), which is why i need as many of you guys to go as possible !! So if you're free on that night, and wanna be entertained by really really good singing (modesty is not exactly a virtue of mine ya know), drop me an sms/email/comment to tell me how many tickets you need yah ? You only pay for the ticket on the day itself.

dance 2004 was almost the coolest event of the year.. the dancers were all really really really gd! but GOSH! *swoon* u don't know what gd is until u've seen WRAP! WRAP was the champion of the open group category, they were super!

n that is why the title of this post is ISHIBAN! because one of the members of this group is the SEH-EST, SHUAI-EST, ONE N ONLY ISHI!!!!!!!!!!!!!! *swoon* when he came on stage, me, jac n char were screaming n yelling n clapping until this woman turned around n gave us this strange look.. but it was ok! it was TOTALLY worth it.. n during the results, we were so kanchiong.. but when they finally announced the championssssss... we screamed n screamed n screamed AGAIN! hurhurhur. *swoon* after the thingey we went to macs to get a drink n hoping ishi will walk by.. but he didn't, so we wanted to go look for him.. then we saw one of his group members, and we were all set to follow him, until jac spotted ISHI!!!!!!!!!! n now he's our ouxiang.. n the best ouxiang ever.. hehehehe *swoon* which ouxiang is so nice to go talk to his fanclub.. HAHA.. n which one can say "but i'll see u in school what" n "no la, i'm not that powerful".. 3 of us couldn't stop grinning.. ZAI BU ZAI!!!!!!!!!!!!!

he can sing, he can compose songs, he can play guitar, he can dance, he's cute, he's modest, he's seh, he's ISHI!!!!!!!!!! *swoon*
n we're proud to be in his fanclub (aka ISHIBAN).. haha.. all 3 of us!!!!!!!!

Yo peeps ! Hehe..just wanna say that i had great fun at the CS Bash too (Though it turned out more like an Atlanta plus year2s bash). You guys can really shake that booty ! I've realised that no matter how ulu a club is, all that matters is the company you've got ! Oh and i must agree that Lish is one of the most amazing clubbers i've seen..

Anyways, i got into the finals of my "Rhapysody" singing competition !!! Hehe, the standard was really high, and i barely made it into the top 12 out of the 24 contestants yesterday. Anyways, the finals will be on the 14th of September (the tuesday of our recess week). It's gonna be held at NUS Cultural Centre 7pm, and tickets are going at $10.

I'll find out more about the tickets and stuff b4 i officially try to gather all of you yah. Cos 30% of the results on that night will depend on audience voting, so i need all the help i can get !!!

heyhey~! sat nite totally rocked!! i had so much fun!! first we went to esplanade to watch nat perform...she looked soOoOo cute in the tutu tt lish made for her!! oh n the band tt she was playing with, serenaide, wasnt too bad either...in fact i thot tt they were pretty gd! =) n they've got gd taste in guest violinists! they got the best one they could ever get (coming fr someone who doesnt know any gd violinists haha....) hmm...can someone tell me how i can get their cd? nat? newaez after tt we went to cartel to get our food n eat at the mrt staircase...which mite have looked kinda sad to other ppl...few of us sharing food fr some pizza box...but i thot it was qte fun n intimate lor...n i wudnt haf wanted to do it wif anyone else but atlanta~! hehez newaez aft tt we went to shanghai sally's which is like realliE realliE ulu-ated...wah lau eh...so little ppl went...but i guess it was more cosy like tt...n we finally found out who's atlanta's secret admirer! elise the "pocahontas" chiobu (she alwaez looks so chio)! n *ahem* someone's sneakily gotten attached to someone else!! at first the mambo music was a HUGE turnoff for char, urchin n me so we were like juz sitting in one corner...den the music got funkier n we juz went nuts n danced our hearts out...colin esp...phwoar...he was like dancing endlessly...so much energy...lish too...wow she can realliE dance *jaw wide open* (yanru we all noe tt u can dance so yeah i dun haf to mention it =P) as for me, i juz danced for fun n forgot abt everything tt was bothering me...even abt the fact tt someone didn't come...actualli i wasn't realliE bothered tt he didn't turn up...having enuf fun without him...besides we got a date to see him on sat rite elise n char? hehez we're his fan club!~ newaez i guess the bash turned out to be qte alrite in the end...had loadsa fun!

To my complete surprise, since nobody has blogged about last night's outing, I shall do the honours.

Last night, we went to watch Nat's performance. She was decked out in this pink tutu Lish made for her, and was, for lack of better words, ABSOLUTELY ADORABLE!!!!! Haha. Actually, I thought Serenaide was quite good, the band she was playing for. Nat's violin was lovely as well! Those who didn't go, you missed out a lot! While I concede that I'm not a very good judge of music, let me just say that I enjoyed it tremendously.

Dunno if you heard me amidst all the crowds and people busy congratulating you last night, so I shall say it here:

As for Shanghai Sally, sadly, I didn't go. But I caught a whiff of the scandal there. While we were all busy with project work and whatnots, someone got attached under our very noses! Haha. Curious to know who? I'll let those of you who didn't go guess.

1) Financial Secretary (aka treasurer)

impt role in the club, handles all funds by the ad-hocs in the school.. deals with quite a bit of admin work and in constant contact with the aunties over at SAO..

2) Performing Arts Manager

in charge of arranging performances for Stage One, getting the equipment out and stuff.. will have a sub comm to work with..

Paparazzi was GREAT!!!!!!!

Supper hop was FUN!!!!!!

BUT, we missed an element... the other half of Atltanta who couldn't make it...

Anyway, the plays were short but they were really good... I made some observations during paparazzi n supper hop... here goes...

1) Medha loves taking photos!!! (she was busy snapping away with d camera)
2) Marcus was v sad n angry tt Atlanta nv invite him to any outings or to join d blog (we started by inviting him to join us for supper hop)
3) Elise feels that girls can accept lesbians but guys cannot accept gays (how true is that?)
4) Keat was talking to someone on d phone on d bus (wondering who was that??)
5) Nat plays d violin!! (many ppl were surprised)
6) Dith was v happy to meet a fellow AJCian taking d same subjects (it was someone's sis..hehe)
7) Char also started picking up d "China-girl" accent (influence from Elise)
8) Dan's pet phrase is "bo jio" (its in Hokkien, not French.. though they both sound the same)
9) All Chinese High guys are shy (why don't any believe its true?)

Well, well, I guess time flies... Soon, the semester will be over! yay!! Meanwhile, look forward to the following coming holidays (doesn't apply to us though),

yes, last night was acting cute night.. great acting (and i hope it's PURE acting) from elise (she's the best), shu yi (it's the paegent thing getting to her) and melvin (who has such a cute face he looks like he's acting cute all the time)..

dinner at marina south was fun though me and lin hui found out a conspiracy.. that place is an ah-lian and ah-beng hangout man.. we just suddenly looked around and realized that people eating at surrounding tables looked exceptionally similar with the ladies in spaghetti straps with loads of earrings and the guys spotting sideburns longer than that of elvis.. lolz.. as lin hui said it last night, we felt really vulnerable, being the nice people we are.. =)

then it was of to a chilling session at cafe cartel at city hall (sorry melv, we couldn't make it to the freezer in time, it was too cold.. hahahhahahahah) which colin joined us for.. his great review of the show (complete with actions and imitated voices) made us tempted to grab the $18 student price ticket though it will most probably allow us to see the 3 big ladies as stick figures... ahahahahah.. i'm so mean today!!

we left the details of the next outing dangling.. so currently all we've decided on is a movie date on of this coming weekday night at JP.. well i'm free on wednesday only i just realized.. lolz.. maybe next next week bah.. coz our hall queen wannabe shu yi is also very busy for the coming 2 weeks..

looks like the frequency of the postings haf gone down quite a bit.. feeling tired from reading all the readings i had to do so come n drop a posting..

had my first tutorial today n am bombarded with the projects that had to be done.. suddenly feel the stress from work coming in.. think the other group was worst cos their work started piling up last week.. in a sense we're quite lucky.. but overall think cs is still quite ok liao.. listen to all engine ppl in my hall complaining abt their tutorials i feel blessed.. plus our lectures like always watch videos one so quite shuang...

sadly.. i couldn't be there while atlanta was performing our trademark songs for stage one today.. was having my tutorial.. hope u all had fun doing that performance thingy.. really miss the ppl from the other lect grp.. really dun get to meet each other much when we are in diff grps.. feel like we are more like in diff schs.. so sad...

I'm chatting with our 'mama', and we were talking about the upcoming National Day weekend, that it's possible for us to have another outing yet again, (before school work piles up and crushes all of us).

hey y'all!
after the first 4 nights of staying in the hall, i'm back at home again!~
my roomie is nice, and we can clique, so all is well and fine, though i couldn't sleep at all on the first night.. i miss home, more importantly, i miss my MTV ASIA!! i'm deprived of that in hall!! =x so i'm just glued to my tv (with mtv asia on) right now manz.. lol.

today, saw yanru & her Modern Jazz peeps do some awesome dance moves, SUPER cool manz!! makes me REALLY wanna be in the club, though i'm not too cool! lol. yanru looks SUPER cool when dancing!! though her fringe keeps dropping and covering her cute face.. haha.

only had 2 modules' lectures so far.. but starting to feel the stress already, MSUt enjoy this first week.. which is going to end soon.........

salut atlanta! comment ca va? i'm lost after my lesson today. haha.

i'm in school now, super bored. actually coming to sch in the first week is so boliao! don't even do anything much. but shh. don't say i said this later i'll get in trouble. my french class had 4 pple again see haha i'm guai right! i realised there are a lot of pple in cs that i don't know! so interesting huh. where is the audio lab... hmm.

i'm still sick. n i need to go to the toilet but no one is here to look after my laptop. boohoo. i'm SUPER errr. hahaah. too gross.

extremely sleepy now. we only got to sleep at 430am this morning. yikes. luckily my room mate and i have no lectures today. phew.

it went quite smoothly yesterday. other than the fact that catwalk is still not my thing. haha. it made me so concious of my walk. sheesh. jacq hope ya walk will be great yea. it was an eye opener yesterday. saw people getting drunk, getting on a high. i didnt chiong at all previously till i entered hall. haha. talk about change. but i guess it can be quite fun if u do go with a great bunch of frends. atlanta when's the next? lolx. saw urchin n yanru n kaixin n kaile who was the emcee for the preview. think last night can be considered new memories for me. haha.

as i was on the bus back las night, i suddenly felt so thankful for these new bunch of frends that i've made. glad you guys are part of them.

today is d first day of lectures!! jac, peiting, char, dith, nat, joan, keat n me are in d same lecture grp... den today we like lost sheeps... but i think not bad la... we found our way around quite well, i think...agree? :) lolx... anyway i felt d lecture grp is so small compared to jc!! cannot sms or do anything, so obvious to d lecturer...sigh... but luckily, in my opinion, d lectures were not as boring as i expected! or maybe 2 yrs nv go sch liao, so everything is like so new, so interesting to me... haha... but feel abit stress... cos army made me stupid, now must de-rust my brain again... looks like there'll be lotsa assignments, presentations to do all d time...sobz... relaxed too much in my 2 yrs in ns liao.... u all must help me k? some more 16 yr old brain only, alot of things still dunno...

anyways, wonder hows d other lecture grp doing?? urchin, cheryl, shuyi, linhui, marianne n all... nv see u all today... oh, at least we had dinner at j.point today... cos our "mama" cannot join us for ktv tmr... hmm, hope yanru dun be so stressed k? remember we're always around for u... and keat will always give u sweets everytime he see u... oh ya, we were with keat the WHOLE DAY and he nv gave us any sweets... but when he saw yanru, gave her 2 sticks of Mentos sweets....!!! hmph!! : )

it's so nice meeting all of you my darlings today!!

ahhh.. the memories of camp is still fresh in my mind and somehow i feel that i'll never ever forget them... just love hanging out with you all so much it takes my mind off other depressing stuff in my life.. =p

ktv on wednesday!!! so exciting!! i just hope i can stay coz i do have dance committments.. sorry my darlings if i won't be able to make it!! =(

hey peepz. i am back. extremely drained as what daniel had predicted. i need to sleep later. as usual we didnt get to sleep on the last night. initiation for hall6 where they put us through games and quests, making us officially a sixian. camp was a very tiring and dirty one. rolling in mud, walking in drains, eggs, flour, until can bake cake. yuck. amazing race was bloody tiring. i nearly died from stitches and am still suffering from them now whenever i walk fast. argh. so different i must say. cs camp was filled with warmth while somehow i feel that this hall camp winning seemed quite important. frequently pushed. i prefer to nua. haha. i'm lazy. i cant help that. some cheers we had overlapped with what i learnt at cs. like the titanic and banana song. nostalgia. i think we sing with more energy. haha. we also had fright night, but it wasnt caleld fright night. it also involved some detective work. i must say though, that one station was extremely scary. sadakos crawling towards you in the dark corridor. freak out.

had secret pal night and senior junior date. quite fun. went boom boom room for senior junior date.

laser quest on friday. my first time.

there's this station game we had in east coast. involving the washin of our hair right in the sea. liek yuck. but it was intresting. haha.

our performance was not as fun as atlanta's man. sigh. miss you guys.i dont know is it my mindset or what. but sometimes i didnt exactly enjoy my og's company at hall camp. but one plus point was there are more guys. haha. but my grp dont have any good looking ones la. lolx.

and i'm down for the pageant. ARGH. think its freaky. probably trip and fall or tear my clothes or overexpose or ......argh argh argh.

in lecture grp 2 taking 101 104 105 107 111. tut grp 2. so i'll see you charlene. atlanta! one question, when's the best time to take a minor?

heyheyhey!! *sexy low voice* im back fr hall 12 camp!! woohooo! wah din log in for one wk n alreadi so many postings to catch up wif...*yawnz* kinda veri tired aft the camp...at first it was kinda boring n sian coz my grp ppl weren't as onz as u guys...but it got better aft awhile...tho i stil tink cs foc atlanta is stil the best! my grp had all the eng n acc ppl *bleahz* lucky they were nice ppl too...i got to b the cheer ic (tt's how i got my sexy voice) n guess wat? i got best freshie for my grp...n picked for the pageant thingy....means tt ill haf less time to spend wif u guys =( but tts ok...at least stil can c u guys in lectures n stuf...n for those ppl staying in hall...supper n mambo!!!~ *dances arnd madly* hehez my timetable like totally sucks lah...i got CS 101, 102, 103, 106, 108 n in tut grp 3...mon got lect all the way fr 9am til 2pm like many of u, end at 6 n 630 on tue n fri, 1030 on wed n 4 on fri...got the 6hr break on fri...*BOOOOOOO!* no 4 dae wk!! =( *sad* so looking fwd to meeting everyone again on mon! if not, tues for the canteen walk! *yawnz* v tired...been out the whole dae...okies gonna slp now...hope i can break my record of 15 hrs of slp...seeya soon u guys n gals n keep each other updated abt ourselves!~

hey guys.. i'm back in action.. act not really lah.. now still in my hall 7 camp but got a few hours break in btw so use the hall coms to post..

i'm really super shagged from the camp man.. did amazing race around s'pore so we ran n ran.. yes we act ran.. then we had amazing race in sentosa also n we ran again.. my legs going to break now.. think i prob lost like 2kgs from all the running.. but oh well it was loads of fun.. funny thing this time.. my og has 10 guys n 3 gals.. total opp of atlanta.. haha.. so the guys were complaining why so little gals.. n the guys in my group avg ht like 1.8m one.. all damn tall.. n they are act not too bad looking.. *grinz* but all i very stress in hall 7 cos it's like a sports hall lah.. everyone keep asking 'so wat sports do u do?' n all i can say is 'oh i'm not a sporty person'... sigh.. sad fact of the day..

anywayz i think i'm in urchin's group loh.. doing 104 105 107 n 111.. seems like most of u all in the other grp.. sobz.. means we can't get to each other so often liaoz.. anyway i'm in tut grp 3.. urchin how abt u? mine also a 5 day week.. was hoping for a 4 day one.. but at least think my timetable not say very packed..

my bangkok trip... another long & boring post from me.

Hey everyone!!!!! Sawadee kaa!! I’m finally back from Bangkok, came home with sore throat n fever I think cos I ate too many heaty things. Arghhhhhh. Anyway it was like damn fun over there!!!

The first few days had talks n stuff so not so fun the UN building is like damn gigantic n a lot of empty space I dunno for what. The talks like very irrelevant leh cos they’re supposed to talk about UN’s role in the region instead they talked mostly about each UN agency n what they do.

Went to shop in mbk n suan lum night market, really got a lot of nonsense to buy, but I realized I didn’t buy a lot of things. I got like tons of food though. Hahaha. I looked like some auntie carrying the huge plastic bag of food around lor.

Yesterday we traveled 3 hours by bus to this small village in a place called Uthaitani province to see some field project that the UN is doing. The kids are so so so cute, whenever u hold up a camera they’ll call all their friends n pose for the picture. They learn super practical stuff, not like us! Useless things like maths n crap. Anyway after that we went for thai massage, wah damn ticklish!!!!!! I kept giggling n making weird noises cos cannot tahan!!!!! Then apparently the guys kena assaulted by the masseuse..

Today went for city tour, to this super nice temple that King Thaksin used last time, the carvings are so intricate n there are so many parts to the temple! We also went on the chao phraya river boat ride n kena splashed with river water by the fish, but its supposed to be good luck. Other than that the city tour kinda boring, went to some touristy places so it was quite sian.

Anyway the trip overall was good, except now feeling lousy so am gonna go sleep soon. I wanna go to Bangkok again!!!!!!! I wanna go massage!!!!!!! My bum has a bruise cos I knocked it against the bus seat armrest!!!!!!!!! I can’t believe holidays are ending!!!!!!!!!! I miss everyone!!!!!!!!!!!!
